Child and Adolescent Therapy

Many children and teens have problems that affect how they feel, act, or learn. Therapy is a type of treatment for these problems. It is a way to get help for your child.

The anxiety that we experience as parents knowing that our children pass through some difficulties, and we don’t know how to help them can also be increased by finding the right professional.

Understanding why and what your child is going through in a simple way, generating trust so that they can communicate, extend my hand, and accompany them and their caregivers in this process is my job.

My experience helps me to establish quality relationships with my patients and work in different situations and environments (in the private office, at home, in educational centres, out in public spaces, etc.).

To gain efficiency in my work, I collaborate with families and educational teams, as they are the closest environment for children and where they spend most of their time gaining and practising new skills.  Teamwork is key to ensuring the best care for a child and their future development.

I have vast experience of collaboration with private and public schools throughout the Costa del Sol.

I help expat children and teenagers to adapt to a new environment in the most comfortable way.

Therapeutical Process

It starts with a caregiver’s visit. You can ask any questions, tell your story, share your concerns.

A clear understanding of the diagnosis and baseline is fundamental for future constructive work.

Depends on a personal situation but usually it includes collecting relevant information, psychological anamnesis, interview, tests or scales, observations, previous diagnoses, medical examinations and prescriptions.

Careful investigation of physical, mental, and behavioural development allows me to gain insight into issues that children experience.  It also allows me to elaborate programs of intervention and support children and their families.

When the evaluation is completed, parents attend a session in which they are informed about the results. During this meeting we also set our goals and discuss possible strategies of treatment.

The therapeutical process begins. During the treatment, after every session I give a short feedback and home tasks.

ABLLS-R is an assessment tool, curriculum guide, and skills-tracking system used to help guide the instruction of language and critical learner skills for children with autism or other developmental disabilities. This practical and parent-friendly tool facilitates the identification of skills needed by the child to effectively communicate and learn from everyday experiences.

It provides a comprehensive review of 544 skills from 25 skill areas including language, social interaction, self-help, academic, and motor skills of children ages birth to 12 years.
