Walk and Talk Therapy

What is it?

Walk and Talk Therapy is very similar to traditional psychotherapy with the exception you are walking outdoors while you are talking about issues. Bringing a little bit of movement sometimes enriches the therapeutical process.

This alternative allows benefiting from fresh air and exercise at the same time.

How can it help?

From my experience, some adults and teenagers are more comfortable walking side-to-side rather than sitting face-to-face during sessions.
Sitting down for a one-on-one conversation in an office, direct eye contact and sitting still can result uneasy for some clients, so taking the conversation outside can help relieve some of that tension.

Movement can help to open yourself up and make it easier to discuss feelings. During these sessions, you literally and metaphorically move forward.

Walk and Talk sessions present body-oriented therapy based on Mindfulness which can make it easier to relax, stop ruminating, focus on the moment, breathe deep…

Physical exercise improves blood circulation and endorphins production which is well known for its positive impact on mental health. It allows your brain to work a different way, to be more open to new ideas, to get “unstuck”.

These sessions can decrease anxiety, regulate mood, improve your sleep and more.
Whatever your topic is – depression, anxiety, stress or grief; any kind of difficult life transition – personal, family or work-related – they can be comfortably talked through while walking.

Costa del Sol is a beautiful setting for Walk and Talk therapy. This area offers amazing outdoors, beaches, warm and sunny weather nearly the whole year. Let’s make the first step toward your well-being.
